Nepal Red Cross Society - CEHP

Nepal Red Cross Society manages CEHP (Community Empowerment for Health Promotion Program) in collaboration with Swiss Red Cross since 2001. The service of this program are implemented Mid-West Region (MWR) of Nepal. The core services of CEHP are Community Health and WASH, HIV prevention, sensitization of NCDs and strengthening capacity of Red Cross and community network. The program was mainly implemented in Jajarkot, Dang, Rukum, Rolpa and Dolpa districts in previous phase. The new phase-VII of the programme is being implemented from July 2018 to June 2021 with the continuation of two components-Health and WASH in Province 5 (Dang and Rolpa district) and Province Karnali (West Rukum and Kalikot district)

Nepal Red Cross Society, Community Empowerment for Health Promotion Program (CEHP) Nepalgunj invites applications from qualified Nepali citizen for the following position.

 

Position:                   District Coordinator (Level Five)

Number:                   One

Duty Station:            Jajarkot district,

Duration:                  One year contract with possibility of extension.

 

Minimum Requirements: Proficiency certificate level passed from recognized college/institute, Need good communication/facilitation skill in Nepali and English language and ability to write reports in both languages, good commands in computer application, knowledge on account keeping, good coordination and management skill, 2 years work experience on community level water, sanitation, hygiene and community health programme, interested to work in remote and travel frequently in programme areas. Age bar is 21-35 yrs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Post:                District Coordinator

Level:              5th (Fifth)

Component:    Community Health and WASH(CH-WASH)

Duty Station:   Jajarkot

 

Scope of responsibilities:

The jobs is concerned with the organization and management of Community Health and WASH activities of CEHP project and to support District Chapter, Sub-Chapters, health facilities and CBOs to implement action plans and project activities according to calendar of operation, policy and procedure laid down by the programme.

The staff member is expected to work with the highest degree of moral behavior and conduct adhering to the Red Cross Movement Code of Conduct and seven principles. The code of conduct is integral part of the working contract.

The employee will be stationed in NRCS Jajarkot, although s/he has to be spent required time in the project VDCs to ensure the effective implementation of the programme.

The employee directly reports to unit head.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Implement the project activities according to the project operational plan of Community Health and WASH (CH-WASH) for Jajarkot district
  • Support to develop/design necessary formats and tools etc for the programme.
  • Facilitate workshops, seminars and training activities as required
  • Make regular visit to the programme VDCs to monitor and supervise  progress of the project and also to provide the input to relevant staffs
  • Build the close coordination with stakeholders in WASH and Community health to implement 'CH-WASH' related activities
  • Maintain coordination and linkages with relevant stakeholders and other project of NRCS to achieve the optimum results
  • Facilitate to activate D-WASH-CC, V-WASH-CCs, W-WASH-CCs etc
  • Maintain the financial records of the monthly expenses and prepare monthly financial report
  • Collect the reports from program VDCs and prepare monthly and other reports as required
  • Record the programme related information/documents properly.
  • Fulfill other specific assignments given by CEHP.

  • Project/activities implemented as per calendar of operation
  • Specified quality achieved as prescribed in the project
  • Quality reporting to the concerned in time
  • Any innovation related to the project
