Nutrition Innovation Lab- Nepal

The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Nutrition is a USAID funded project implemented by the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University in close collaboration with Johns Hopkins University in Nepal and numerous US and developing country partners. The mission of the Nutrition Innovation Lab is to discover how integrated interventions of agriculture, nutrition and health can achieve large-scale improvements in maternal and child nutrition in Asia and Africa and enhance institutional and human research capacity around agriculture, health and nutrition in Africa and Asia through graduate level training (MS and PhD) and support for short courses and conferences.

Details / requirements:

Johns Hopkins University (JHU) through the Nutrition Innovation Lab is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of: Data Analyst

Qualifications (REQUIRED):       

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Biostatistics, Applied Statistics, International Development or other relevant discipline.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as an analyst, biostatistician experience preferred.

  • Full working and/or advanced knowledge of SAS, STATA, R or SPSS required (SAS and STATA knowledge preferred)

  • Strong skills in statistical analysis

  • Knowledge of report create and graphic representation of data

  • Excellent communications, computer, time management and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong written and spoken English required.

  • Must be able to work in a team, be available for international conference calls and meet urgent deadlines.

     

    Qualifications (PREFERRED)

  • Demonstrated technical depth in at least one of the following areas of epidemiology, public health research, family planning; maternal, child and newborn health; nutrition; tuberculosis.

     

    Responsibilities: 

    In conjunction, with the Nutrition Innovation Lab Project Scientist, Principal Investigators and Data Analysis team, this individual will be required to: 

  • Perform data analysis on existing longitudinal panel databases for non-experimental design national study using SAS or STATA and apply a variety of statistical methods to the data including – but not limited to- linear regression, logisitic regression, longitudinal data analysis, propensity score matching, etc.

  • Organize results into detailed tables and reports for use in publications and/or presentations.

  • Prepare and manage data files and data analysis plans 

     

    The individual will be expected to be proactive in self-learning, and may be asked to attend short-term classes to strengthen specific skills. For more information on this research project, please go to www.nutritioninnovationlab.org
