Vacancy Announcement for consultants to carry out baseline study of the Livelihood projects in Lalitpur and Sindhuli districts 

Finn Church Aid (FCA) is the major Finnish NGO in development cooperation and humanitarian works. FCA operates in over 15 countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America and Middle East. It specializes in supporting local communities in three interlinked thematic areas; livelihood, education, and peace. Since 2008, FCA has been supporting communities in Nepal in addressing their needs and enjoying their rights. After 2015 earthquake, it has been also responding the needs of earthquake affected children through construction of 178 temporary learning spaces in 2015 and 671 semi-permanent class rooms (of 10-15 years of life span) across four earthquake  affected districts along with other interventions such as WASH and DRR. Currently, it operates its projects across 10 districts of Nepal 

FCA is looking for consultants services (a team leader and a member) as described in detail TOR to carry out baseline study of two livelihood projects of similar nature with key elements on access to finance, entrepreneurship and social empowerment of women. The main aim of the baseline study is to produce data against the project indicators to demonstrate the achievements at the end of the project.  The project covers 12 Village Development Committees (VDCs according to previous local body structure) in southern part of Lalitpur district and 3 VDCs in Sindhuli district (please click http://www.asianart.com/bannersys/pictures/nep_tor.doc for detail TOR). 4500 women and girls are direct beneficiaries of the projects. 

The study should start as soon as possible and expected to complete by 15th July, 2017.  The assignment consists of 21 days both for  team leader and member. 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES:

  • The team leader must have master’s degree qualification. S/he must have strong understanding and experiences of research study focusing on micro finance, entrepreneurship and private sector engagements. The team member should have substantial experience of livelihood project development, management and evaluations or assessments with Master’s degree of education.
