Consultancy: For conducting management skill training 

Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is a leading Swiss international non-governmental organization active in more than 34 countries for the protection of vulnerable children (www.tdh.ch). Tdh is seeking a brief proposal along with CVs and other supporting documents from interested expert trainer/s of consultancy form for delivering two days management skill training to its staff in December in Kathmandu. The detail ToR is attached herewith. 

Terms of Reference (ToR) for 

Management Skill Training to Tdh Nepal delegation staff 

INTRODUCTION

Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is a leading Swiss international non-governmental organization active in more than 34 countries for the protection of vulnerable children (www.tdh.ch). Tdh was founded in 1960 in Lausanne and since then it has been helping to build a better future for disadvantaged children and their communities, with innovative approaches matched to practical and sustainable solutions. It has been working in Nepal since 1985 initially providing health services support to disabled children collaborating with HRDC in Nepal. Tdh has been in Nepal developing and implementing projects to allow a better daily life for deprived children and their families, particularly in the domains of protection, health and WASH. 

Terre des homes Nepal delegation has planned toorganize a short training event hiring external expert trainer to facilitate this training. Leadership skills and management competencies will be covered in the training.

OBJECTIVE OF TRAINING:

General objective of this training is to enhance knowledge and skill of staff on leadership and management skillso thatstaffs under their responsibility, programme and partners arebetter managed. 

Key contents of training: 

  • Management competencies (focus on problem solving& decision making; communication skills;supervision and coaching skills): one day
  • Leadership skills: one day

Important note: The consultant shall develop and propose suitable sub-topics related to these mentioned topics to achieve the overall objective. The trainers will prepare detail schedule of training before the training based proposed contents or trainer/s can propose schedule for two days.

Training methods:

The selected trainer/s are expected to use participatory methods and tools in the training to deliver sessions effectively. Relevant methods  for conceptual understanding and practice are expected to be used by the trainer-s. 

Training materials:

LCD projector, PP slides, video, meta cards, newsprint papers, exercise forms etc. are expected to be used by the trainer/s. Similarly, stationaries including markers, newsprint papers will be used as supportive materials for learning. 

Participants: 

About 18 staff above managerslevel will participate in the training. All staff are experienced in I/NGO sector, most of them in management role.  

Expected Trainer-s: 

The expected trainer/s should have expertise in above mentioned area having experience in delivering similar training events for INGOs or Corporate sector including international training facilitation experience.  

Date and duration of training: 

Two days in the 3rd or 4th week of December 2017. The exact date will be agreed with the trainer-s. 

Terms of Payment:

The payment will be made after completion of training.

  • Proposal including capacity statement 
  • Total budget incl. trainer’s fee 
  • Copy if VAT /PAN certificate 
  • Copy of Company Registration Certificate (if applying through company)
  • ProposedTraining schedule with semi-detailed contents (including methods/media)
  • CV of trainer/s incl. references
