Vacancy Announcement

The DCA SARO invites applications from qualified and competent Nepalese candidates for the position of Communication, Learning and Documentation Officer for SECON – Consortium Project (Shelter Support to the Earthquake Affected Community of Nepal) based in Kathmandu.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • S/he would lead in communication and documentation of SECON project and will be responsible for producing produce visibility materials, the production of videos, animations, brochures, and leaflets for the programme. S/he will be responsible to write case studies, reports update website, face book page and be responsible for documentation, database management and media coordination for the programme. S/he will be also responsible to build the capacity of partners to strengthen communication and documentation and ensure the dissemination of messages regarding project work to the widest possible audience. The position is based in Kathmandu, and the project period is till April 2017 with possible extension.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject (preferably in English and journalism/communication) with minimum three to five years of relevant work experience and fluent English Language skills. The required competencies include ability to work in an organized and responsive manner, good knowledge in database management, excellent communication skill (written and spoken) in both English and Nepali, the ability to successfully run and edit websites as well as engage with, and upload to, social media platforms. Candidates with videography/photography skill would add value.
