Rural Reconstruction Nepal

Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) is a Nepalese non-governmental development organization working in the areas of integrated community development, agriculture, forestry, human rights, peace building and social justice, having strategic focus on protecting and promoting economic, social and cultural rights and right to development. We also work extensively on natural resource management, disaster management and climate change adaptation and mitigation activities. Its major interventions are directed towards poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged groups of people in rural areas.

Call for Letter of Interest

Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) is one of the largest, leading Nepali non-government organisations (NGO) working in the areas of development and policy advocacy. Its major areas of interventions/ engagements include, but not limited to, rural development, human rights and social justice- having strategic focus on protecting and promoting economic, social and cultural rights and right to development and peace building from below in Nepal. Its major interventions are directed towards promoting pro-poor and pro-people policies and practices through integrated rural development, policy advocacy, campaign, lobbying, networking and research functions. RRN has been has been implementing many programmes/projects across the country with financial supports from various development agencies.

Community Development Programme (CDP) is one of the programmes and projects currently being implemented by RRN. CDP is a DFID supported Non-State Led Service Delivery Component of the Nepal Local Governance and Community Development Programme (LGCDP). The main objective of CDP is to strengthen local governance for providing direct service delivery to deprived communities in 18 districts; 9 of which are Terai districts and 9 remote districts of the mid and far-west development regions of Nepal. In the Mid and Far West regions CDP will cover the following Districts: Jumla, Humla, Mugu, Dolpa, Kalikot, Bajhang, Bajura, Achham and Jajarkot. In the Central and Eastern Terai regions CDP will work in Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Mahottari, Dhanusa, Siraha, Saptari and Sunsari Districts.

RRN is in the process of developing and maintaining rosters of potential service providers, short term consultants and project staffs in order to meet the future requirements of the different projects along with CDP. Interested candidates meeting the desired qualification for any of the services mentioned below are invited to submit their letter of Interest along with profile/CV as per their areas of expertise:

Infrastructure Development     

1. Civil Engineer                                                               

  • BE + 1 year work experience/Fresher can also apply

2. Civil Overseer                                              

  • Diploma in Engineering + 2 years of working experience

Disaster Risk Reduction / Climate Change Management (DRR/CC Mgmt.)

1. Sr. Officer DRR/CC                                      

  • MSc. in Environment Science /BE or ME with DRRM elective + at least one year work experience

2. Officer DRR/CC                                             

  • BSc. in Environment Science /BE with DRRM elective (Masters preferred)

Local Governance

1. Local Governance Officer                       

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years relevant work experience (Masters preferred)

Livelihoods

1. Livelihood Officer                                       

  • BSc. Ag. with at least 2 years relevant work experience (Masters preferred), fresher can also apply

Accounts/Finance

1. Accounts/Finance Officer                                                       

  • Bachelors/Masters in Accounting or Finance + at least 1 year relevant work experience

1. Accountant/Finance Assistant                                              

  • +2/Bachelors in Accounting or Finance 

Short-term Consultant                 

(a) Infrastructure Development Related Works                  

  • BE (civil) /ME + 5 years of work experience
  • Diploma (Civil) +3 years of work experience

(b)Local Governance                                                                     

  • Masters in relevant subject+ Capable of providing expert service on Local Governance with proven track record

(c) Livelihood                                                                                    

  • Masters in Ag., Forestry and other relevant discipline + proven track record and expertise of livelihoods related opportunities and issues in Nepal

(d) Accounts/Finance                                                                    

  • Bachelors/Masters in Accounting or Finance + work experience
