Toolkits Development on Narrowcasting 

Context

Young people share a restless determination to address the problems that affect them the most. That’s where we come in. 

At Restless Development, we’re proud to be the banner carrier for youth-led development, demonstrating from the grassroots to the global policy levels that young people can and must play a lead role in development. As a result, Restless Development is repeatedly cited as a model of best practice in youth-led development by the World Bank, the UK Department for International Development (DFID), UNICEF, UNAIDS and others. 

In Nepal, Restless Development has been working in the youth and adolescents development sector since more than 25 years. Restless Development has more than tripled the size of its budgets and programs in the past five years, has been the recipient of several international and national awards, and is repeatedly cited as a model of best practice in youth-led development by the World Bank, the UK Department for International Development(DFID), UNICEF, UNAIDS and other international development institutions. Restless Development Nepal is leading on the Youth Participation in Development Process(YPDP) project which is funded by UNFPA for the period of 2014-2016. The major focus of the YPDP programme is to contribute to strengthening local and national youth networks/organizations systems and program to increase youth engagement in the national development process for sustainable development. The specific objectives of the activities are to improve the ability of youth-led and youth serving institutions to design, implement and evaluate evidence-based youth advocacy and programmes, Strengthen the capacity of youth to engage in development processes in their districts and communities and create an enabling environment for improved adult-youth partnership to ensure joint accountability of development results. 

Nepal is in process of reformation the state which has direct relations to development priorities across the country. Nepali being the one of signature nation of UN its current development priorities is Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  To support global development beginning from Nation’s development priorities.  Restless Development in partnership with National Youth Council & UNFPA has already started the SDGs localization process. Realizing the significance of advocating to newly elected local representatives Restless Development has issues this call for interestfor having an implementing partner on following activities.  

Major Activities:

  • A Day orientation on SDGs to facilitators (SDGs pool) on toolkit in Kathmandu.
  • A Day orientation on SDGs to newly elected local representatives in 3 districts; Bajhang, Arghakhachi and Sarlahi
  • Pre-test: 1 day SDGs orientation to newly elected local representatives in 1 district. 

Objective of the Partnership

Restless Development is looking for a short termpartnership with possibility of extension to implement the following activities to orient newly elected local representatives on SDGs. 

Roles and Responsibilities 

  1. Planning and executing local context  analysis in 4 districts
  2. Compile the findings research with Restless Development.
  3. Logistic &  Financial management for1 day orientation on developed toolkit in Kathmandu
  4. Hold a meeting with Restless Development and UNFPA as per need. 
  5. Lead 1 day orientation on SDGs to local representatives in 3 districts.
  6. Producing and sharing the quality financial and programmatic reports in monthly basis.
  7. Integrate the comments provided by Restless Development, UNFPAon financial and programmatic reports.
  8. Lead overall financial, programmatic and administrative roles. 

Competencies of the Partner 

  • NGO with having 7 + years’ experience on programme implementation.
  • Prior experience working on SDGS, facilitation and research work 
  • Experience in holding national and level workshops on SDGs.
  • Proficiency SDGs and current youth issues. 

Interested Nepalese National NGO are requested to submit their application with following documents;

  2. copy of legal documents
  3. copy of recent audit report
