Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) invites application from qualified, committed, and result-oriented Nepalese citizens for the following position:

Position Title: Assistant Director

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Guide, supervise, monitor, and support in maintenance of appropriate database of relevant Acts and Laws, Rules and Regulations, NRB Circulars and Directives related to banking sector; and other rules and regulations (of relevant authorities) as soon as it is updated;
  • Support and guide in the maintenance of database from relevant primary data, NRB data, or other such secondary data;
  • Support and guide in the maintenance of database from media reports regarding quantitative or qualitative information (data) about the banking sector;
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to gather and analyze significant quantities of data;
  • Support and guide collection and documentation of relevant Acts and Laws, Rules and Regulations, Circulars and Directives, etc related to banking sector;
  • Keep abreast of each and every new information related to the banking sector (policies etc) and support/guide documentation of such information in suitable form (hard or soft copies);
  • Conduct situation analysis, context analysis, comparative analysis, data analysis, econometric and statistical analysis, etc;
  • Support the Executive Committee (EC) and different NBA Sub-Committees in their activities;
  • Work as a “Coordinator” for carrying out promotional activities and prepare annual plans (budgets), program and activities, etc;
  • Provide necessary support and guidance as well as take lead in conduction of different programs and activities of the Association;
  • Provide support, wherever possible, in other financial and administrative affairs of the Association;
  • Represent the Association in different program and activities organized by external agencies and in different policy and advocacy forums;
  • Monitor and supervise junior employees;
  • Assist the ED in day-to-day administrative and financial management;

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

  • At least Masters degree in economics, management, or financefrom a reputed university with consistently high academic achievements;
  • Relevant work experience essential;
  • Good knowledge about Nepalese Banking Industry; candidates with exposure to NRB rules and regulations will be highly prioritized;
  • Excellent writing abilities, persuasive oral communication skills and ability to foster long term productive relationships with banks, regulatory authorities, government agencies, donors and other stakeholders;
  • High level of IT skills (use of at least one of the statistical and econometric software like SPSS, STATA, etc preferable);
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to gather and analyze significant quantities of data;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good coordination and networking skills,and capacity to lead and participate effectively in multidisciplinary teams;
  • Good time management skills and ability to accomplish works within strict deadlines;
  • Excellent people skills and the capacity to lead and participate effectively in multidisciplinary teams;
  • Flexibility in working hours and condition as well as ability to sustain work pressure;
  • Experience in event organization (workshops, trainings, interaction programs, policy advocacy, etc) preferred;
  • Candidates having work experience in commercial banks, central bank, or within financial sector are encouraged to apply.
