VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

RTI International, the International Education Division is currently accepting applications for an Assessment / Training Coordinator (one position) to support the Early Grade Reading Program (EGRP), a USAID-funded five-year program to improve early grade reading in Nepal. This is a full-time position. The program will work closely with and support the Government of Nepal’s design and initial implementation of a national education model that standardizes early grade reading in public schools.  The position is based in Kathmandu with expected travel to othertarget districts across Nepal.

The Assessment / Training Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to the assessment of EGRA, EMES, TOS and other surveys including coordination of Training of Trainers, and Training of Reading Motivators, RPs and School Supervisors. The Assessment and Training Coordinatorwill collaborate closely with the government officials, especially with NCED and the central level and DEOs and ETCs as appropriate at the district level to coordinate, supervise and support all aspects of surveys, training delivery, and in-school support.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate overall administrative as well as logistics support to prepare district teams for EGRA, EMES, TOS and other surveys. Keep track of timelines of these activities and conduct advance planning/needs assessment for logistics support needed including other administrative preparations required for these surveys.
  • Provide technical support in selection of competent and energetic assessors and supervisors and provide them appropriate training and orientation.
  • Work closely with ERO and DOE for administration of surveys in selected districts and provide necessary technical and administrative support to communicate and prepare DEOs for these surveys.
  • Submit EGRA/EMIS implementation report to the Team Leader
  • Coordinate and keep track of all training activities such as training of trainers, teacher training, training of Reading Motivators, RPs and School Supervisors on mentoring and coaching.
  • Submit training implementation and progress report to the Team Leader
  • Work with the M&E team to prepare and report quarterly progress reports, annual progress reports, status reports and survey reports.
  • Develop monitoring and reporting plan for surveys and report to M&E Team Leader on a regular basis.
  • Work with Data and Statistics Specialist to keep record of surveys and trainings including necessary support in data entry.
  • Support in conducting workshop and training to related stakeholders in EGRA/EMES assessment implementation.
  • Supervise the performance of assessors and field supervisors on a sample basis to determine their performance and provide support to improve their performance.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree and 6 years of M&E experience with specific experience on coordination of large scale surveys and training programs or Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience on coordination of large scale surveys and training programs or equivalent combination of education and experience.
