Agriculture Technical Assistant (ATA)

Reconstruction & Research Development Center (RRDC) Mugu is a non-profit organization working in different community development approach since 2067 BS based in Mugu District. Currently it is looking for the potential candidates for the Awasar Project funded by care Nepal.

COLLABORATES WITH:

• District Level Stakeholders, Government Line Agencies and Program Coordinator, CARE Nepal Awasar project team.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• The “Agriculture Technical Assistant” is responsible for implementing Agriculture and livelihood activities in intervention areas with technical backstop from the Program Officer and Program Coordinator. S/he works closely with the CARE Nepal Awasar project team and social mobilizers.  

MINIMUM SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:

• A minimum intermediate degree on agriculture science (equivalent degree from CTEVT), in agriculture from a recognized university- at least 2 years' experience in agriculture and livelihoods-related program implementation.
• Sound knowledge and experience in agriculture, livelihood and nutrition related program implementation.   
• Familiar with National Agriculture system and Government Policy and Priorities on Agriculture seasonal and off season livestock production and its marketing system. 
• Strong ability to work in a team and coordinate tasks and responsibilities. 
• Knowledge on budget planning, analysis, forecasting and expenditure tracking.  
• Good monitoring, documentation and report writing Knowledge. 
• Strong knowledge on training schedule preparation and facilitation.
• Strong knowledge and experience on capacity building of farmer's groups and cooperatives. 
• Excellent English and Nepali writing.
• Local candidates based on Mugu will give priority. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead Agriculture and Livelihood component of Awasar for implementation of activities.
• Develop micro plan of Agriculture and Livelihood component (Demonstration Plot, Kitchen garden seed distribution, based on finalized and approved DIP for quality delivery of program in consultation with Program Officer, Program coordinator, and CARE Nepal.
• Coordinate Social Mobilizers and provide necessary technical assistance on Agriculture and Livelihood for quality outcome of program. 
• Facilitate community level Trainings, orientation under Agriculture and Livelihood component of the project.
• Prepare report on Agriculture and Livelihood component and document relevant cases on progress made by interventions.
