Company Profile

District Roads Support Programme (DRSP) is a Swiss funded programme that focuses on improving access to benefit people in remote areas of rural Nepal. It aims to build the capacity of participating districts to plan, design and implement the maintenance, rehabilitation and construction of district roads. In continuation to the support from SDC towards the transport sector in the country SDC through DRSP/PSU has provided financial assistance (partially) to DoR for the technical assistance in the design and construction supervision of the bridge at Ghurmi across Sunkoshi river. Costs for construction of the bridge is borne by DoR (GoN) and a contractor is assigned for implementation. DRSP/PSU was involved in the early part of 1996 at the time when DoR were reviewing the design of the bridge. DRSP/PSU assisted in the review of the design proposed by local consultants by the input of an expatriate specialist in bridge design, who contributed to an economical design. With the design work completed, the construction of the bridge is in progress and DoR seeks support on technical supervision from DRSP/PSU during the period of construction. The assistance from DRSP/PSU shall be in the form of placement of a Bridge Construction Supervisor (Engineer) during implementation.
